A lil back story
Back in 2021, when I was first dipping my toes into Web3, a bunch of us created a small Discord community called Makerdock. We'd jam daily—building tiny products, experimenting, failing, learning. That room gave many of us our start—some went on to raise rounds, others joined top Web3 companies.
Fast forward to mid-2024, I wrapped up two incredible years at Polygon and found myself wondering: how can we recreate that same builder magic, but at scale?
That's when I teamed up with Saumya, Akhil, and a few OGs from Makerdock to start a new experiment:

Farcaster Builders International (FBI)
We kicked things off with a small IRL hackathon in Bangalore to introduce folks to Base + Farcaster. The energy was off the charts—and we knew we were onto something.
From Then to Now
- 5 high-signal builder programs (curated for energy + skill)
- 70+ events hosted globally
- 2000+ members and counting
- 5000+ followers across Twitter and Farcaster
- 200+ quality builders, 70+ of whom have won grants or hackathons
- 50+ terminally-onchain members with avg onchain score of 80+
- 30+ real apps launched—crushing Base hackathons and Onchain Summer
Some highlights from FBI
Based Games
A week-long Farcaster-native game where 200 players battled daily in puzzles, games, and partner quests. The final team walked away with a $10k pot.

I led the entire experience—planning, design, execution, and some code—alongside FBI members.

Result
- 200 mints sold out before we even went public
- 8+ top Farcaster communities participated (Higher, Club Ted, $BUILD, and more)
- 15 finalists, with Snob from KGeN taking home the prize
- 1.5k+ website views, 20k+ dashboard views
- Every day was powered by partner games and puzzles—educating users on Farcaster-native products

This is our signature 2-week sprint for early-stage builders.
We handpick 20–30 high-energy folks, pair them with mentors, and help them build a product from scratch. Then we take them IRL—last season, it was in the Himalayas.
Builders co-live, co-work, and co-play. Late night sprints. Demo Day. And a lot of bonding.
Impact?
- Most Season 1 fellows are now at leading Base projects
- Some raised, others got hired
- Community > curriculum
Now we're back with Based Fellowship 2.0—with fellows getting a chance to join Base Batches and raise $1M+ in funding.
